Who is it for?
NEBOSH International Oil & Gas Certificate
This course is targeted for individuals to make the move from generalist to qualified specialist with the International Technical Oil and Gas Certificate (IOGC).

Aim and objective
NEBOSH Oil and Gas Certificate is a new qualification designed specially for those with safety responsibilities in the oil and gas industry.This qualification focuses on operational process safety, so that candidates can effectively discharge workplace health and safety responsibilities both onshore and offshore throughout the world. It also highlights the importance of process safety management.

Course content
The course outline is divided into five modules covering the 5 days.

  • Module 1: Health, Safety and Environmental Management in Context.
  • Module 2: Hydrocarbon Process safety 1
  • Module 3: Hydrocarbon Process safety 2
  • Module 4: Fire protection and Emergency response
  • Module 5: Logistics and transport Operations

Target audience
Head of Departments (HOD’s), managers, supervisors and worker representatives, Safety coordinators and newly appointed safety advisors who work onshore or offshore both in the UK and internationally.
Duration of Course: Taught over Five days plus 1 day for Exam.

Assessment
Assessed by a two-hour written exam consisting of ten ‘short-answer’ eight mark compulsory questions and one ‘long-answer’ twenty mark compulsory question. Papers are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.

Pre-requisite
IELTS score of 6 or equivalent is highly recommended for those English is not the first language. Underpinning knowledge of safety issues so NEBOSH Certificate Level qualifications (IGC) is highly recommended.
